Petrified Wood literally means wood turned into stone. Petrified Wood is formed when plant material is buried by sediment and protected from decay by oxygen and organisms. Petrified Wood is a fossil, and you would be shocked at its weight if you tried to pick a specimen up. The markings you find on petrified wood are the original tree’s growth rings.
The petrified wood being a natural product, these samples are average which are liable to vary. We will always endeavor to maintain consistency, at least as close as possible, but resemblance cannot be guaranteed.
